FAQs

I feel like I've failed as a father. How can you help me rebuild that relationship?

Feeling like you've failed as a father is incredibly painful, and I've been there myself. We'll work together to understand what went wrong without getting stuck in shame, develop new parenting skills, and create opportunities to rebuild trust and connection with your children.

How do you help fathers who are struggling with addictions or escapist behaviors?

Addictive behaviors often mask deeper pain, shame, and disconnection. Having experienced this myself, I help clients understand what's driving these behaviors, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and address the underlying emotional issues that fuel the addiction.

I don't know how to share emotions with my family. Is it too late to learn?

A: It's never too late to learn emotional skills. Many men weren't taught how to identify, process, or share emotions. I'll help you develop this emotional vocabulary and create safe ways to start sharing more authentically with your family members.

What if my kids are angry with me and don't want to spend time with me?

A: This is heartbreaking but not hopeless. We'll work on understanding their perspective, taking appropriate responsibility for your part, and creating consistent, patient efforts to rebuild trust. Recovery of these relationships takes time, but it's possible with the right approach.

How do I balance being vulnerable with my children while still being their strong father figure?

A: This balance is crucial. True strength includes emotional honesty and vulnerability. I'll help you learn how to model healthy emotional expression, take responsibility for mistakes, and show your children what mature masculinity actually looks like.

I lost my job, house, and marriage. How do I rebuild from rock bottom?

I experienced exactly this situation - losing my 27-year marriage, job, and house within six months. Rock bottom can actually become your foundation for rebuilding a more authentic, intentional life. We'll create a step-by-step plan to rebuild while processing the grief and trauma of these losses.

How long does it take to repair relationships with my children?

Every situation is different, but rebuilding trust with children typically takes consistent, patient effort over months or years. The key is showing up consistently, being emotionally available, and demonstrating real change in your behavior and emotional regulation.
